NCR Party Trailer & Reservations

The North Central Region of NC (Cullom, Flat River, North Roanoke, and Tar River Baptist Associations) in partnership with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina is proud owner of a party trailer. Representatives from each association have joined with other leaders  in purchasing and equipping an 18 ft. trailer for use of the churches within these associations.

The party trailer is perfect for community block parties, festivals/fairs, VBS, and/or other church/community events. But as you will see in the party trailer policies, it is not for use of individual church members, only for congregational sponsored events and/or activities.

Reservations:
Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be taken up to six months in advance.

Lay RENEWal Ministry

The Lay Renewal Ministry has been developed and is being promoted by the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the Baptist State Convention of NC (BSCNC).  Trained lay ministry teams will come to your church to lead for special Lay Ministry Weekends to help equip your congregation for ministry.  Choose the weekend emphasis that meets your needs.  The possibilities include (1) Spiritual Awakening, (2) Equipping for Ministry, (3) Marketplace Evangelism, (4) Prayer and (5) Missions.  There is no charge for this ministry other than providing food and housing for the team members.  They request that the church provide food and allow the team members to stay with church families.  This ministry has had a great impact on many congregations.

More information can be found at the NAMB Church Renewal website: www.churchrenewaljourney.net

Your NC coordinator is Phyllis Foy.  You can reach them by phone at 1-800-395-5102 EXT 5527

Medical / Dental Ministry

NC Baptist Men operate two  medical/dental buses that are available for your church to use in ministry.  Each bus has 2 fully equipped dental offices with electrical generators and water supply.  This provides a great opportunity for ministry to those who cannot afford dental care in your community.  These buses are often used to minister to the elderly, the impoverished, ethnic groups, migrant workers, the homeless and more.

NC Baptist Men provide a driver and a host for each event.  The costs for use of the bus will be $.65/mile roundtrip from Cary and $7 per dental patient, $5 per medical patient, or $3 per eye patient depending on the treatment received.  The host church is responsible for enlisting the volunteer medical staff (dentists, doctors, nurses, etc.), reaching out to the target group, and scheduling appointments.

The church should also provide greeters, counselors, in addition to hygiene kits, snacks, childcare as needed.  This is a great way to involve the congregation in reaching out to your community as a unique project or in conjunction with a special event.

The Baptist Lay Witnessing Foundation  (www.LAYWITNESSING.ORG )is a witness training ministry working cooperatively  with NC Baptist Men and the Evangelism Team of the Baptist State Convention of NC.   Teams are available to assist your church by leading Lay Witnessing Weekend Revivals.

CAN YOUR CHURCH BENEFIT?  It has been my privilege to witness the beginning of the North Carolina witnessing foundation.  The principle was simple, and since the principle reflects the patterns and commands given throughout the Bible, it is little wonder that it has worked so well for over 50 years.  It has been my joy to schedule the revivals.  A book could be written with the letters of pastors and church people who offered their praise to the Lord for the results and benefits realized through the lay revivals.  J. Edwin bullock (former BLWF Executive Director)

The church does have the following responsibilities for a Lay Revival Weekend:

  • Have a good supply of prospect cards ready for the weekend.
  • Commit to pray diligently for the weekend.
  • Commit to being witnesses with the visiting team.
  • Provide lodging in homes of church members for visiting team.
  • Provide meals for visiting team.
  • A love offering to the scheduling office after the weekend to help take care of necessary expenses is encouraged but not required.
