Church News

Avalon  --  Had a great community response to their Live Nativity Scene on Sunday, December 22nd.  Each unchurched family that came received a personal invitation to attend Sunday Worship Services.  Rev. Joe Price is Pastor.

Battleboro -- Distributed Bibles to every household in their community.  Provided a meal for the members of the local Fire Department.

Benvenue -- Has expanded its outreach to the community by allowing a growing Hispanic Ministry (Casa de Dios) to rent the building for early Sunday morning services.  Benvenue partnered with Casa de Dios in the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox project collecting 190 boxes.

Calvary (Roanoke Rapids) -- Recently approved a $1.3 million dollar addition to add classrooms and fellowship hall/multi-purpose building.

Community Center -- Congregation is excited about extending a call to Rev. Jim Whitehead as Pastor.

Darlington -- Recently purchased a bus and remodeled their Fellowship Hall.  The Youth attended Youth Week at Fort Caswell and gave out refreshments along with gospel tracts at the community display of fireworks on July 4.  A group of 15 went on a one-day mission trip to volunteer at Samaritan's Purse in Charlotte.  The ladies are working on a ministry project for cancer patients by making pillows with embroidered Bible verses on them.

Dawson -- Contributed 406 Samaritan's Purse Shoeboxes in 2013.  Church is planning its first foreign mission trip to Panama in 2014!

First Baptist (Roanoke Rapids) -- Began a TeamKid program in September, 2013 with 35-40 children in attendance.  Youth attended Winter Jam at the PNC Arena in Raleigh on January 3, 2014.

Hobgood -- Shared 'My Hope America' with Billy Graham materials with two neighboring community churches and coordinated teh showing of DVD presentation.
