Prayer

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:13*

This is what the Lord says:, Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom, or the strong man boast of his strength, or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness n the earth, for in these I delight.  Jeremiah 9: 23-24*

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  Everyone was filled with awe, and many miraculous signs were done by athe apostles….And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.   Acts 2: 42-47*

Not only does prayerlessness expose the condition of your heart, but what you pray and how you pray when you pray reveals much about who you are.  Rick Astle from The Priority of Kingdom focused Prayer

Prayer does not fit us for the greater works; prayer is the greater work.  Oswald Chambers

One of the greatest mistakes that a Christian can make, is to imagine that increased social or spiritual activity can be any compensation for the lack of secret communion with God.  There’s time for business, time for pleasure, time for social and Christian service, but no time for the exercise which would give to all these, and other things, power and effect.  The simple fact is, we must find time for prayer, or we shall perish.  W. Graham Scoggie

God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.  1 Samuel 12; 23*
